Hey i was wodering about the honda TRX 300EX, is it a very powerfull quad at all? Will it go up big hills, and rough terrain? Thanks

 

it'll be fine up hills and moderate terrain.
it a great bike for a beginner to learn a clutch on.
personally- I'd just go with the 400ex- you'd out grow the 300ex in no time.

 

Alright i was orginally going to get the 400ex but i thought the 300 would be better price wise but if i would grow out of the 300 then i probably already am grown out of it, i have experice with a big automatic quad and a small dirtbike with a clutch so thanks man

 

55 years old and 250# and I love my 300ex!!! It takes me up anything in front of me.
The 400ex is a fine machine also.

Like I said, the 400ex is a mighty fine machine too. No doubt you'd like it just a pinch more.
I guess it'd depend on the particular machines condition and price.

having owned several of both and also a 250ex- other then availability- I really don't see why anyone would buy a 300ex- the 250ex is a great beginner sport quad with a forgiving "sport-clutch" and it's a bit smaller than the 300 & 400ex- but the 300 & 400ex quads are both manual clutched mid sized sport quads that pretty much ride the same. at least the 400 had 2 headlights mounted in the fender instead of 1 light on the bar like the 300ex has.

seriously- just buy the 400ex and enjoy the extra 100cc's - if you're already riding dirtbikes and other atv's- you'll get bored with the 300ex in no time, then you'll start looking for ways to "modify" the 300 engine to make it more powerful.

Powerful? Not at all, but a reliable trail quad, yes. Just, they are tiny and you will want something faster once you get used to it. I went with the 400 and wish it was quicker sometimes, but I don't wanna sacrifice my reliability by getting a 450 and trail riding. With good tires outback, mine goes up just about everything I point it at. Great machine, had more fun on this than anything else I've had in the past including all my dirt bikes combined..
