Well, the wife is not to happy with me right now, oh well…..

I recently remodeled the house, and in the process, we added a new front door with sidelites, but the old door was practically brand new. Posted it on Craigslist, and next thing you know, I traded the old front door, for a 2004 KFX 400 – that has a blown motor.

Pretty good trade, figuring the old door I pulled out, still had the tag from Lowes attached to the jamb that said “Returned Item - $350”.

Anyways, the quad needs some work other than just an engine, so I will take this slowly, start with a few questions….

1. Best place to get an engine? CL, EBay or a junkyard?

2. Parts – I’m reading that the KFX and LTZ were pretty similar quads, are there some interchanging parts?

3. Year – I was told 04, but how do I figure out exactly?

And any other advice on the KFX is greatly appreciated….
