99 bayou skips at higher rpm's
#1
I have a 99 bayou 300 4x4, I've been having some electronic issues of late, It starts fine idols fine and runs fine at low to mid rpm's, problem is when I get on the throttle it starts to skip. I had it looked at by a friend of mine who has a bayou parts machine. he swapped out the cdi box, and stater, with no luck, then he checked the voltage regulator and at high rpms the volts would spike causing it to cut out, so he changed out the regulator and it ran great for a month or so, now it's doing it again, Any suggestions on where to go from here? thanks

Is your battery good? I had a little Suzuki 250 that would do the same thing because I had a weak battery on it. The battery would actually start it, but it wasnt enough to run it good. I ended up having to replace the regulator on it and that is probably why.

Hey guys I have 1996 Honda 300 Fourtax that cuts out the same way. Starts good runs good but cuts out when you get some rpms. its also very flat in high gear. no speed and certainly no power did you notice this with your bikes. thanks
