95 Scrambler wont idle(ETC issue) and dies in reverse
#1
Hello All -
I am getting beaten up trying to figure out this issue on a 1995 Scrambler 400 4x4. It runs great, it just will not idle, as soon as the the throttle comes to rest the ETC switch opens and the unit dies, if I hold the switch so it makes contact the unit will continue to run. One other thing is it will die when put in reverse if you do not hold the override button. I have checked the switch continuity and it opens and breaks the circuit as it should. Do I have a bad CDI? or do you have other suggestions?? Thanks for the help

Some people but tape between the contacts and just get rid of the system.
