Engine Revs up by itself (turn key off and on, it goes back to normal idle)
#1
Hey OPT,
I'm sorry for posting again!!! The guy came over with 2200 cash in hand. However, he seemed to have miss that i said the engine revs up by itself sometimes.... So he left saying "Fix it and i'll buy it"
Really need to fix this!!! I know you said some options, but can't find the topic and re-read them.
I did check the cable and it was perfect. (Both the throttle and Choke)
I don't have contact cleaner and how would that affect the idle??
Please give me some places to look at as i really would like the 2200 (I actually get a profit LOL)

Only thing I remember was this.http://forums.atvconnection.com/pola...ml#post3213174
If you can't track it down to a carb or cable problem, while it's idling high you can spray contact or even brake cleaner around the carb intake boot and air box boot and cylinder head and see if the engine slows down. If it does you could have an air leak and you'd be able to smell the cleaner in the exhaust. It's a smell that you cant miss and will make your eyes water in an enclosed area...If your afraid of doing this you can try soapy water..Hard to keep up with all your posts on this engine!
