9 Volt Battery Hook-Up

I have a silly question. I have a 2008 Sportsman 800. What is the little 9 volt battery hookup in the headlight pod assembly for? Just curious!!

9 volt battery is only hooked up when you have the atv diagnostic port hooked up to Polaris Digital Wrench software for diagnostic check out or reflash.Helps power the display during this time.

Okay........I couldn't figure out why this was in there. It just looked out of place.
