Is my dealer shooting right with me or is this just an excuse? It is only 4 months old and the rear breaks are gone. Not that much use either so the pads must be soft.

thanks in advance

I could see if it were a mechanical failure or something has broken, but they should not have to pay for brake pads, if something is wrong with them then they should but not for simple wear thats like getting new tires when your stock ones wear out, that would be quite the warrantee!

Actually, if the original brakes wear out before the manufacturers six month warranty is up, they will cover the parts and labor. I know because I had them replaced on my bike under warranty. My dealer says that most dealers are too lazy to call to get it approved because it takes time, and they get paid either way if they perform the service. I have a 2000SP500. I heard they are now putting better quality breaks on the new bikes. If this is true and iof you have a 2001, this may not apply to you, but I believe it does.

ROG, I'm sitting here reading the warranty and it say's
"Polaris Industries Inc gives a six month limited warranty on ALL components of the Polaris ATV." It also says that it excludes any failures that are not caused by a defect in material or workmanship. It goes on with that it does not cover accidental damage or NORMAL wear and tear, abuse or improper handling.
It's kinda vague huh? Explain to him that the wear is ABNORMAL, but not abusive. If that don't work, find an other dealer.
