capacitor discharge ignition problem

Default capacitor discharge ignition problem

1987 honda 125 4tx needs replacemnt HC3 cdi.
have looked everywhere for one (3 mos search on ebay, salvage yards etc) without success.
is there an ignition ''workaround'' that will keep thiis atv from the boneyard?
all advice welcomed.

There are a bunch of 85s and 86s for sale on eBay. Won't they work on the
87? Also, consider a new Chinese substitute, also on eBay.

thanks sr ruedas.
the 85 and 86s won't work. only 87 and 88 will. they have the model code HC3 on the connector
it has to be for a 125cc and i have not found any chinese or whatever with the right year and 125 cc on ebay so far.
if you ever see one please let me know.

Default cdi conversion

if you haven't done so, go to 3wheelerworld and do a search for cdi mythbusted (I think was thread) any way they were discussing an aftermarket cdi and connector setup might help cant hurt
