After answering many questions and taking a few orders, one question continued to come up-"With the 12:1 compression, do I have to use race fuel or can I use pump gas?". Untill now, the answer has always been that race fuel was needed. As a direct result of you, the American performance customer, asking for it, Team Pami now offers an 11.2:1 compression option at no added cost on all of there kits.

If you would like to see what Team Pami has to offer, please visit them at www.team-pami.de . If you have any questions, or would like to order, feel free to e-mail me at knutzconcepts@msn.com .

If anyone has had problems visiting there web site over the last week or so, please try again, The problems that they had should be resolved by now.

Thanks for your time!

Help me out here Knutz, I thought 10 to 1 was about as far as you could go on pump gas, would you need octane booster at altitude?

In automotive terms, 10:1 is as far as you would want to go with a simple ignition and iron heads. Your can safely go to 10.5:1 on an automotive engine with aluminum heads because aluminum disapates heat much better. Because the combustion camber size is so much smaller on motors like these, it is easier to controll the detonation. That, combined with the fact that both the head and cylinder are aluminum to disapate heat very well, will let you safely run up to 11.5:1 compression on 92 octane gas. The 12:1 that Team Pami has as one of your choices, only requires 95 octane fuel, easily available in europe but not easy to find here. That's why they now offer the option.
Your alltitude should not effect the octane needed, as long as you are jetted properly for it.
Good question though!

It was my hot rodding past that told me where you were coming from with that question. When I first started road racing motorcycles[and working on them as well] I had the same questions and was just told "because thats the way it is", so I researched it myself to get the right answers.

This compresion option is available on all 3 engine kits from Team Pami, so like Burger King used to say, you can "have it your way"!

Does Team-PAMI offer lower compression than 11.2, for their non-stroked engine kits? I'm asking for the Turbo application.

They have a very wide variety of head shapes and pistons due to there extensive motorcycle backround. If you tell me exactly what your looking for, I will ask if they have something for you. If you want something custom, I think you will find that we are faster and easier to work with than most anyone you could choose. Thanks for asking. I look forward to hearing from you.
