Hey O.P.T. I have been reading quite a few posts on here and you seem to be quite sharp on just about everything Polaris. It seems that any question that people have you have a great answer for. It is good to know someone out there knows these things. Thanks for all of your input, it is very helpful for me, and hopefully others. How did you acquire such a wealth of knowledge? Thanks again!

Cause all the other smarter techs I had trained wanted to work ONLY on KTM street and dirt bikes instead! One look at some of the atvs and Rangers that were hauled in with cow mess from the ranchers and mud from the mud buggers and wrecked machines from kids and brother-in-laws helped them make that decision.Plus most of them were younger and dirt bike riders to begin with. So guess who was left with most of the Polaris repairs for almost 23 years.

I've actually been thinking about power washing my machine. When I had all the plastic off last week for maintenance I noticed a fair amount of dirt and such. I considered taking it to the car wash but didn't want to mess up and connectors and such and thought a pail of hot water and a rag might be better. What is your experience? Thank you.

I got really good at pulling the plastic and washing mine. Used a cheaper, lower powered electric washer. Careful around the chain, don't want to force dirt into the orings.

I use a bucket of soapy water. If you do use a pressure washer be careful. They have enough power to take decals off, not to mention what it can do to CV or U joints.

Yes you do have to be careful, plus we had one of these at the shop and it cut drying time a lot so I could get to the machines faster. Also tried it on our vehicles, but best at drying off cycles and atvs.

In a pinch, a leaf blower works well too.

Or in my case, you're too cheap to buy something else.
