hi all , here is the question
bike= 2000 kawasaki prairie
riding conditions=
45 % rutted trails only about 6 in deep and sloppy and full of water when it rains
25 % flat dry grass, dirt and gravel
20 % deep mud and water (enuff water to cover a 25 in tire easilly)
10 % climbing
what im looking to do is gain a little groung clearance and get a tire that will do better than a stock tire, but dont want to go to the extreem of some of the mud tires out there. i make it through almot every thing with stockers (or just smart enuff not to go into places where i know im gonna get stuck cuz the big trucks have been there.) i just want a tire that will do it a little easier than stock. i think with a power kit and alum rims and the light weight of the blackwaters (compared to some of the other 26 in mud tires) ill be a little better off after all the changes. what do all of you think????
sorry about the length and thanx in advance

I to have looked at the Blackwater XT's (6Ply) tires for more ground clearence as well as a better all around tire. Out of all the ATV tires on the market today I believe that the Blackwater XT's are the best for your money. I have also spent time pricing them over the internet and have found a large price difference between numerious sites so shop wisely. I have also heard that if you deal with an automobile tire company ( Discount Tire, Goodyear, Ect. ) they may even be cheaper. Look in all directions before purchasing. The best price I have found was at

WWW.ATVNORTH.CO

There price mounted on new rims begins at $540.00 plus shipping and handling. That's not a bad price. I hope this will help.

i wouldnt really reccomend the blackwaters. I dont know about 4wd's but with my warrior they spin like crazy, in mud you do move but muds everywhere and im not gunnin it either, it goes through rivers ok and goes u hills ok but for the agressive tread they look like they have they slide and spin a lot. fun for powerslides though.

I like the Dirt Devil X/T's. The price is really good ( alot lower than some), a 6 ply tire, and didnt hurt my performance any. Infact, i think that they HELPed the performance. (better traction). I can still spin them tho. They seem to clean out REALLY good. That is the only thing that i didnt like at first (because i wasnt wearing a rain coat). I was covered in MUD!!!! makes for a really fun day!

If you would like to know what i ride....check out the Yamaha forum...a post "griz600 and my dirt devils" or something like that....

You and i have about the same riding percentages....

Good luck.
Jonathan
