kawasaki 650 sport quad very soon
#1
Looked at a not named yet kawasaki sport quad tonight. The same engine ,cvt, shaft drive and brakes from the prarie 650.They have not decided on the plastic styling yet ,there were 4 different plastics had a lot of resemblance to the raptor also had double a arm suspension forward reverse shifter where the tank normally sits and the fuel tank under the seat(3 gallon)the exhaust was also not finalized yet. according to the staff there the quad is aimed more at the 500 scrambler 2x4 than the raptor or ds650.Hopefully Polaris is reading and listening, by the way the new polaris sport quads engine is an inline pushrod twin(700cc) said to be no wider than the current 500 it also will be an automatic.

800Twin,
how do u get lucky enough to see these machines before they are released to the public??
did any of the kawi People mention that they knew about the sp700 or a new sport quad from polaris??
your right is saying that the new 700 engine is about the same width as the curent 500. look at the pics of the four stroke sled on maximumsled.com and u can see the engine. it looks very narrow for a 785cc twin.

Jon, my job is to build toys people dream of and are not able to build themselves,I ask a lot of questions, order a lot of parts from various manufacturers and build custom parts .Word just kinda gets around and different people and manufacturers ask us to look at their ideas. And yes I am very lucky and happy to have this type of job.

I am damn impressed 800 twin . I have spoken with folks at Polaris maybe twice . I can never get any info out of anyone , they are extremely tight lipped . The ones in the know are fearfull of losing jobs if things are leaked . (which I understand) The closest I have ever gotten to good information is "Polaris will always produce sport quads". How did you get such a good relationship with all the manufacturers ?
