Default Calibrating Speedo

Hello,

I have just purchased a quadzilla and the speedo isn't worth toffee.
When doing around 25MPH it says I'm doing 55, clearly this needs to be amended.

I have followed the cable down to the rear wheel where there is a metal plate supporting what looks like a magnet and two bolts.

Can anyone advise on how to adjust the speedo?

Many thanks
Andy

pretty sure their is no adjustment. its just a electronic ring that picks up from the little magnet on the other side. I don't think allot of them are accurate. The GF Suzuki says she is doing 55 and my new arctic cat says im doing 41 right beside her. My old prairie say i was dong the same but i know it was way less.

Hi Zrock,

Thanks for the info. It has been suggested that maybe the wheels are not the original ones and maybe smaller. I've also ordered a 12v cigarette lighter so I can wire in the SatNav.

Cheers

Changing tires sizes only throws it off slightly more or less.

Whys it knowing your exact speed on a ATV trail ride important if you do not mind me asking?
Your best speed indicator it the tree branches breezing by your head or wind in your face.

The buggy is road legal and it's main role is the commute to work and running around town where there are a lot of speed cameras. She will be getting plenty of off road use but that's not her main role.

their would need to be a significant tire size change to make that big of a change. the easiest way is to get someone to drive with you at a set speed and see what their speedo says and just do the math. is their 2 pickups at the speedo ring causing it to double the speed?

Are you sure that is not the KPH reading? If you can get hold of details of the true speed against the indicated speed and the speedo is a moving pointer type rather than the digital number type, you can stick a dial with the true numbers round the face.
