After a brief start, gas is pouring out the drain tube on bottom of carb. There is not a hose connected. where does this hose route to, and what can I do to fix this. Thanks in advance for any and all help. I really appreciate it.

 

The hose is a drain/over flow tube on the carb bowl. If it's pouring out of the bowl probably a float needle(item#21) sticking or worn. You can remove the carb and clean it,but since you have it apart best to just install a rebuild kit. Item # 36 on the parts break down.
