i have a 450s foreman and it keeps back firing. i have taken it to the honda shop 3 times and it still is back firing. Should i just get a new carb or what?

Sounds to me like you just need to set the valves. Have you done this? If you are compfortable with doing it it's not hard and will take maybe 30 mins or less. I don't trust the dealers anymore after I have to go over there work everytime. Anyways just a thought.

 

Ravens61-- Tell us more. Backfires under what conditions? Is engine cold/hot , both? Does it backfire thru exhaust or carb?? Is there a consistent set of conditions.
My 450-S sparkplug went south, and was backfiring out the exhaust like a gunshot! More info, please. Later, Mike(4-MAN-S in that other forum)

it back fires when going down hills in first gear. but it isn't under high rpm. when someone rides behind me it sounds like a gun shot and a 1ft flame shoots out the back.


i haven't tried adjusting the valves i will do that , see if that works.
