Hey guys,

I just wanted your opinion on why I shouldn't get a Sportsman500. Its got some great qualities like ride and power, plus it just plain looks great! Thanks for the advice!

Well, for one thing it is a Polaris, two,uh, uhm Its, uh, Oh yeah, Its a Polaris. The title of this post should be "The only reason I bought a Polaris is because the Dealer had a gun to my head, even then I still had second thoughts"

 

Seriously though, My friends dad has a 500 Sportsman. When it is running it is hard to stop with the IRS and all. Key phrase here is "when it is running"

I have a 1998 Polaris Sportsman.. and... I LOVE IT! But!.. yes, unfortunatley there is a but.. It seems like every time I turn around, we are taking it to the shop. It's usually nothing big, but.. Last time, the rear U-Joints were messed up, time before.. bearings... time before.. bearings.. Well, as you can see, you can fix all of the problems I have had, by yourself, and it is no big deal. But, over the years, our shop bills have added up to the cost of a BRAND NEW Sportsman 500 H.O. But now we get to the performance part... The Sportsman is the best you can buy. The IRS teamed up with On-Demand-4-Drive, and you have a BEAST! I have stock tires, and I have went through mud that a Yamaha Big Bear with Vampires got stuck. I am serious, even when I get off my SuperHawk, the power of the Sportsman still knocks me off my feet.. every time!

Back down to REALITY(what's that?)

Not all of the Sportsmans can be like mine.. If they were, Polaris wouldn't be 2nd in sales!

If I were you, I would get one.. I love mine!
