Default Top end rebuild on two stroke.. will four stroke comp. rings work??

Just wondering if four stroke compression rings of the same ID will work on my two stoke piston head. Can get the four stroke rings faster and cheaper (and just pitch the oil rings).

Thanks!

NO.. Each piston has rings sized only for that piston, not only diameter of rings but thickness of the rings for the piston grooves.Plus 2 stroke rings have a tapered fit where they touch the ring stop pin on the piston. 4 strokes ring ends are flat. If you plan on keeping the machine,do it right by having it bored with an over size piston/ring kit.
