Question Plow switch only works one way

Recently purchased a 2008 Sportsman 400 HO. It came with a Polaris plow kit (winch located on the plow rather than on the ATV). The plow unit worked fine but I just hooked it back up yesterday and the winch will only operate in one direction when using the thumb button. When I reverse the two connections between the plow and ATV, the plow will now only operate in the reverse direction.

Any ideas??

check your winch line. Might have gotten all tangled up. Depending on how bad it's knotted up, while the drum may turn in the direction of the button that you're pressing, if everything is all twisted up, won't matter what button you press, the line will just go one way.

Check your wires between the plow and the battery. Hooked my MoosePlow up the other day with the Moose electric lift and it worked once then stopped, I had a loose wire. Even if I got an ATV with a winch, I'd keep my electric lift, at least I'm not breaking the cable not knowing where the stop is like I had done before.

The inside of the switch may be dirty and not making proper contact.
