Default 05 Polaris Phoenix 200 trans isssue

Wont go into forward , N and R work just fine but sounds like gears are grinding when put into F. Found a good video on youtube with same issue. I am thinking that the shift fork is shot. Anyone have the same issue? Also can I remove the trans cover without removing engine from the frame? Any pointers on this , thanks everyone.

Only had to take one apart for basically the same thing. I did remove the cover while in the frame but wished I'd removed the complete engine and transmission. Hard part was the rear part of the cover and shaft or bearing if I remember correctly that gave me fits trying to get back in place properly. This short cut came back to bite me and not worth it.
On any thing like this go by the manual and not what I or anyone else did. Here's one that can help.2005 Polaris Phoenix 200 Service Manual PDF Download

Ok any pointers on removing the engine from the frame? Just spent the past hour and it is still in there.

The best info on this is still in the manual. Can't remember every detail on this or a lot of other machines for that matter.Manuals are great for people like me so they don't have to remember plus usually pretty straight forward in most cases. Not trying to be a crabby old goat, but everyone that plans on working on their machines need one,not only to help them ,but to keep them from screwing things up also.
