I would like to start a discussion about my bike so I can collect some information to get it going again. Like the title says a 05 650 traxter max xt. I am having engine trouble. I appear to have fuel, have spark and have compression. I do need to get a tube where my spark plug goes...the rubber seal at the top went hard and started leaking oil...siliconed it as a temp messure. I have not started it again since doing this. Just the other day, it started backfire, run rough. I have been working it hard skidding wood for the winter. I noticed over the past weeks it has been harder and harder to start. I have had to leave the choke on for longer periods to keep it idling when i stopped to hook chains up to wood. I let her sit for about 2 weeks..went out and bought some new tires and rims....and guess what...she wont start. I had a mechanic buddy come over...he looked it over...took the carb off to have a look at it...didnt see anything there that was obvious...to be fair to him...not his area of expertise...he is a mechanic though...we have compression...we have spark. I know I could probably give alot more info, but maybe we can start here and maybe trouble shoot the problem. Thanks in advance for any help or advice
