Default carb issues suzuki quadrunner

i have a 1985 suzuki lt 250 ef quadrunner i just rebuilt the carb took it comletely apart and cleaned it because after it would run for a couple minutes it would leak gas out of overflow tube and die unless i would stay on throttle. after cleaning and putting back together its doing the exact same thing, any thoughts?

Install a new carb kit as cleaning one is usually a waste of time especially if the needle and seat are worn. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUZUKI-LT250-QUAD-QUADRACER-K-L-CARB-KIT-1985-1992-/381086358151?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item58ba845a87&vxp=mtr Plus here's a good article on a LT230 carb for reference. Don't know if it helps or not,but setting float level correctly is another thing you may have to do even with a new kit.https://sites.google.com/site/suzuki...-s/carb-tuning

i was thinking it might be the float level, could a worn needle and seat cause it too leak out the overflow though? and once its revved up it runs good, i was worried i wouldnt be able too drive it back, but it started wheelie n and running great when im on the throttle its just when i would stop it starts puttin out and leakin
