Unhappy 2003 Polaris 600 twin Sportsman 4x4

Hello,
I am new to this group.I have an 03 600twin sportsman 4x4.I got it used a week ago.The problem it is having is when I shift into either reverse or high or low I am getting a jerking and bumping ? After it gets rolling its just fine?So I thought maybe it was a warn or drive belt in bad shape. I tore it down and removed the belt drive cover and the belt is BRAND NEW? SO now I am wondering if I could have a bad CV joint or other drive line problem?
If there is anyone on here that has had the same issue, can you PLEASE reply to this post with any advise ?
THANKS in advance !!

Just jack the machine up and check for any play/wear in both rear drive shafts along with play in the short prop shaft between the transmission and rear differential.A lot of people overlook this one.Dirt Cheap Yamaha & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse
