Default need trail atv

Going to be riding in ny, pa, and nj in woodsy trails with some mud mixed in there. Looking for the best trail quad that is good for a first time user with little experience. Needs to be automatic, 4 wheel drive, and under 3k preferably 2500. Also looking for a machine that is 2000+ in year. Currently found a 2005 scrambler 500 4x4 for 2295, a scrambler 500 2001 34x4 for 1500 with minor maintenece needed and a grizz 700 2007 for 3500.

Thanks,
a quick response would be appreciated as i would like to buy one by the weekend

Don't know anything about Scramblers, Grizzly has good reputation but sounds out of your price range and not sure if you need a 700 for what you are wanting to do. I would suggest looking at Kawasaki 400 or 650 or something Arctic Cat. As usual, buying used can be tricky. Be prepared to spend some money after the sale for tires or other little things you might not notice right off.

Any 4x4 ATV will trail ride even a 2wd 80% of the time. The only thing I do not like about the Scrambler is having a chain to maintain (Lube/Tighten) and all chain drive ATVs have low ground clearance under the rear sprocket.

Just Look for the best condition one you can find in you price range.
Don,t go by year. I have seen mint shape 1998 ATVs and rough 2005 ATVs.

Id look for something like a 2000's Yamaha Kodiak or a Polaris Sportsman 500. You should be able to find either of those for under $2500 in good shape.
