Default 2-1999 sp500's. Original coolant, maybe time to change!

Opt,

Have 2 1999 sp500's that have never had the antifreeze changed. Do you think this has done any damage? And wondering whats the easiest most effective way to change them both out and also wondering if can use any standard green antifreeze such as that from Walmart etc.- Or must it be POlaris antifreeze?
Appreciate the help!

-Jon

Not if it hasn't over heated and the fan works ok.Just drain the radiator, install a garden hose in the radiator and run the engine until clear water drains out. Let it drain completely, close the drain, lift the machine up with tires off the ground and add coolant.Run without the cap and let the fan cycle on and off a few times to help remove trapped air,add coolant as the level drops. You can also squeeze the hoses as the manual states to help on this. Top off coolant in the radiator and coolant bottle. You can use almost all type coolants as most are ok for aluminum radiators now. 50/50 or 60/40 as Polaris uses. Your choice on this.

I gather the radiator has a petcock? Or should I pull a hose off instead? Also, just jack the front wheels off the ground when refilling? Appreciate it opt.
