Default LT80 pull cord?

Hello all,
I'm reaching out for LT80 help again.
Problem is keeping a battery charged up while its cold. Twice now while out in woods the little 5 series battery has failed (cheapo battery). I have read that a pull cord can be added to the left side. Anyone know if this can it be done for sure and how to do it? All advise pertaining to LT80 pull cord will be greatly appreciated.

cheers,
No_whereman
