I was just wondering if anyone has had problems with the belt slipping when you are riding around and going through puddles. Do they have there clutches gaurded so the water won't spray them? Thanks

The belt slippage problem is very much exagerated. I have owned three Polaris' and have clocked over 5000 miles and only had three belts slip. I went into thoses particular water holes very fast and splashed the PVT exaust. Plus in 2000 they redesigned the PVT exaust so it's even better than ever!

Ive got 1400 mile on my Xplorer and my belt has never sliped at all and Ive had it up to the racks in water.
I agree that the belt slipping problem is exagerated.

Never had mine slip in over two years of wte riding. When I got the quad, I took the PVT cover off, and applied a bead of grease in the groove that the cover sits in.

Hi,

Yes the problem is exagerated. I've had mine slip once in 4 months, and it's when I go through deep water real fast. If I take it easy, it wont slip. When it did slip I got off, put it in neutral and reved the motor for 30 seconds. Got back on and drove off.
