whats the difference

It is full size, the 450 frame is the same as the 700 and almost identical to the 750 and 500. The 400 uses a slightly modified Eiger frame, and has swinging arm rather than the independent rear suspension of the 450 to 750 models. The 400 not small either, it is a lot bigger bike than the old model Honda 420 was.

thanks for clearing that up for me! i just bought a new kq400asi and noticed it felt a bit narrower in the seat than my old vinson 500. ( wrecked by stepson )
i chose the 400 for the SRA, pull more trailer than trail ride anymore. still miss the vinson but the 400 does everything i ask of it,great machine!
thanks again

Here is their specs side by side http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...2=101357&go=Go. The 400 KQ is a Mid Chassis.
The 450KQ (top) and 750KQ only difference was the 750 had a extra headlight in the handlebar pod. The 450 motor was bored out from 84mm to 87.5mm and now is the 500KQ.

I wasn't quite sure;but it makes sense looking at the info. i had a 500 vinson (stepson totaled it,story for another day) budget allowed me the 400KQ. now i'm trying to duke it up to my riding style. seemed to me more accessories available for the larger KQs. that was the purpose of my question of frame size.
thanks for the help

I think the Vinson had the same 493cc motor as the current 500KQ by the looks of it 2003 Suzuki Vinson™ 500 Automatic 4x4 ATVs just that one was carb and the other throttle body.
When I bought my Sportsman back in 2006 I was looking for a used Vinson but had no luck finding one.

The Vinson had a different engine to the 450/500 King Quad. I did wonder if they had just fitted fuel injection, but have now worked on both, and the cases and cooling system are different. We bought a Vinson in against a new 700KQ and the boss's son used the Vinson on his farm for a couple of years, but the frame kept breaking along the lower tubes, even plating by a professional welding shop didn't cure it, so he got a 450KQ and promptly broke the frame on that. My next door neighbour , a smallholder, took a shine to the Vinson so I welded the chassis up and we sold it to him, when I got a proper look, as well as the lower frame tubes, all the tubes holding the engine mountings had broken.
