1999 Polaris Trailboss 325 ignition and electric start problems
#1
Hello, I recently picked up a 1999 Polaris Trailboss 325, everything works on it and runs great once it gets running, usually takes one pull from the cord. The ignition is messed up, once it starts you can move the key left or right or take it out, no affect. The whole left side on the handlebars, besides the kill engine button, doesn't work. The lights (front and back) do not work. Can start it by jumping the solenoid. Any suggestions as to what it could be?
Thanks!

Has to be at least a 2000 model to be a 325.Start first by spraying some electrical contact cleaner into the left control switch, work the switches around and see if you can get get the lights working.Plus check for obvious burnt out bulbs. Also check the connectors leading into the switch. This was another place that pins could get dirty or not make good contact by slightly pulling out. If you can't get it working,no power to the lights, starter, etc, then check ebay for a good used one(hard to find) The key switch is too cheap to even mess with.. Here's one for 9 bucks.Ignition Key Switch Fits Polaris Trail Boss 325 SE 2000 2001 ATV New | eBay If you can't find a good used left control switch, here's the cheapest I've found on a new one. Shows to fit many models including the Trail Boss 325.Pure Polaris Headlight on Off Reverse Override Switch Scrambler Sportsman 500 | eBay
PS.. Just dawned on me that this model you have to push UP on the kill button to start. Might be what you're not doing??
