Default Sportsman 500ho motor chiped cam lobe?

So i recently picked up a 2001 sportman 500 h.0. Complete running engine for only $200 bucks. I wanted to check things out with it so i pulled the valve cover and rockers out. The pads on the rocker arms are not worn only where the de-compression ball hits. On the cam i did notice that one the intake loabs it looks like each one was chipped possibly on the sides but each one looks identically as far as a possible missing pc. Of loab. As i look closer it kind of looks like it was made that way? Have these cams been known to chip or more so just ware down. I find it hard to beleive that each loab would chip the same on each intake loab the exact way and spot.

Probably just milled that way.. As long as the rocker pads are good,no worn spots, wouldn't worry about it as intake lobes are rarely ever a problem.

Great thats kind of what i was wondering. I may used the cam and put it in my 1997 non ho sportsman as i have an extra ho carb kicking around. Its a pretty noticible difference in power low end between my 09ho and 97 non!

You can use the NON-HO 34mm carb with the high duration HO cam if you want.
