Default Hi all! New here and some Q's

Hi all, just picked a new bike for the kids. I got it for $100, it cranks but no spark. I've checked the cdi and it's a DC unit not AC, I've checked the trigger wire and I'm getting vAC but my coil wire out of the cdi is only like .456 volts AC.. so I ordered 2 new DC cdi and a coil.. anyway here it is

Nice $100 score! Get a new spark plug too. Sometimes the plug wire and cap go bad if your new CDI's don't work.

I do, but I would first match what you got into it now. If it ends up being good, nothing wrong with having a spare.

Fixed! I have spark. The bike runs, I have to use starting fluid because the PO took the carb a part because of the no start and must have put the slide in backwards because it doesn't move at all.. anyway I'll post up after that's squared away, other than that I'm actually surprised it started and ran decently

I read nothing about cleaning the carb. Your jets are prolly plugged and the choke circiut needing cleaned out.
I'd bet the slide is in correct. If the slide was in backwards, it'd be revving very high and you would shut it off immediatly.

Sorry I ment to say.. they guy I got it from said it didn't start so he took it apart and cleaned it and didn't start and also said that he was unsure if he put it back together correctly. My issue is the throttle doesn't move at all, so I was going to pull the slide and checked the cable
