TaoTao engine and gear oil change

TaoTao engine and gear oil change
In the manual for my Sons new TaoTao 125, it says after the 20hrs break-n period to change the engine and gear oil. Are these separate? Ine know how to change the engine oil but im not sure about the gear oil. It also says to clean the gear box out with Kerosene. Has anyone done this?
