Default Headlight problem

Hi There,
I have a question about my 1994 Polaris 400l lights.I replaced the headlight switch on the left and now have no headlight. Before I replaced the switch I had on low the lower lights came on but not the headlight. On high I had the lower and the headlight come on. I changed the switch and now on low have the lower lights but on high they go off and the headlight doesn't come on. I tested the headlight socket when on high and have 12v on the yellow wire and the brown wire is this right? The brown is ground am I correct?Anyone know what is the cause?
Thanks

Correct replacement switch? Yes brown is ground on all full size Polaris atvs. Sounds like a ground problem. Try running a jumper wire from a good ground to the high beam headlight brown wire. If the light comes on,then you have a short some where in the wiring or the switch itself.
