I am most grateful for the info posted
on these boards. (Thanks mostly to
ChrisP, I will mail you for details
to go for a ride)
I have been most influenced by the
need to buy from a quality dealer...
The Yamaha dealers here (Idaho) seem to be
top notch.
Will post details about the Kodiak after my
Moose hunt and delivery of the RED Kodiak.

Boy you burned him, oh wait a minute, let me see, the last time I checked there wasn't a shift lever on the New 2000 Kodiak. Guess he won't "Have fun shifting". They are nice machines, but still not "true 4x4". But I'm sure it will perform well.

pflueeb,
I've seen 2 of your post so far and it seems you have little of use to say. The Kodiak is also automatic and this individual was previously asking for guidance on which quad to go with. He thanked us for our input and let us know what he chose. I get the impression he would not be thanking you for your input. Try to be helpful, you may think your Snappy remarks are "COOL", I doubt many others do.
Scott.

Hope you like your Kodiack. I looked them over at the dealer, but didn't get to ride one yet.

I like them a lot. Probaly my favorite automatic utlity ATV over the Magnum 500. I really like how it's smaller feeling, and how much narrower it is around the floorboards. It also looks really good!

Have fun riding.

Thanks for the kind words. At the risk of
sounding indecisive...
I am rethinking.
I need a comfortable two person machine.
(As explained in another post)
I also have to admit to being the type who
enjoys having the "upper tier" in power,
features, and capability.
Maybe the apparent higher costs are worth it
in the joy of the use?
I just wish I had a better feeling about the
local Polaris dealers.

Don,t second guess yourself kid you went with your instincts. If you don,t have the dealer support you did the right thing . We have the opposite problem of you here ,we have a great polaris dealer but a weak yamaha dealer. Rode the new Kodiak a few week ago it is a great little machine . True it is not quiet as comfy as the Magnum 500 like I have but if you,ve never ridden anything but the new Kodiak you will likly never know the difference. Just be glad they redsigned it because the old kodiak rode like a wagon.

This is probably getting boring to many,
but if you want to see a pic of the
four door V-10 which will carry whatever
I end up with...

Like I said before,I went to Twin Falls to get my Explorer because of my dissatisfaction with the Boise area Polaris dealers. It was well worth the 1.5 hour drive, and I saved $600.00.

Even,
has the local Polaris dealer let you test ride a Magnum 500? If he is one of those," we don't offer test rides" dealers.. RUN as fast as you can. I've never understood how they can expect you to make a decision about such an expensive toy without riding it first.
Heres one of my favorite tests for a dealership. Talk with him indepth in person, call him back a couple of times... not with idiot questions, but with a simple intelligent question. Make sure you always talk with him, and make sure you tell him your name. If after the 2nd call he cant remember your name and/or starts blowing you off or gives you a dumb answer, thats NOT the dealer for you. (Whether its Honda Yamaha or Polaris) If he's too good to answer questions now, it'll only get worse AFTER he has your money!!!!
I know this may seem unfair for the dealer, but these are tests I use in many aspects of life... these are MY hard-earned coins... If he wants them, he HAS to earn them the way I did!!!...
