Default Need help with Kawasaki prairie 650

I was riding my 03 Kawasaki prairie 650 4x4 today in light mud when it lost power, backfired, and died. I turned the ignition off and sat for a minute. When I turned the ignition on the display did not come on but the neutral light flickers rapidly and a noise can be heard in the solenoid. Pushing the start button results in nothing happening. Tried a few times, occasionally the belt light will flicker or the display will flash monentarily in addition to the neutral light but still no response when start button is pushed. Any help is appreciated

Flat battery, or main wire from battery to earth, or battery to fuse to ignition, come loose or broken.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm going to check all the wires and connections tonight. Hopefully I can locate the issue.

Default 03 kawasaki

Turns out the winch solenoid shorted out. It was feeding back into the display and shutting everything down. It was making noise so I removed it and the display came back up. I was able to pull start it and its running fine. I ordered that and the starter solenoid to be safe but at least til they come in i can still ride now.
