hey guys I need some help my bikes stuck in third shift motor doesn't work won't shift by hand with manual shift pulled front cover off but I have no idea what I'm looking for this is my first Honda got it on trade was told just the shift motor was bad but it won't shift manually. Any help is appreciated

 

If you have the clutch cover off, remove the clutch lever, below it is the gearchange mechanism. This is prone to all sorts of problems, remove the parts and inspect them carefully. You may have to remove the clutches and oil pipes to do this. Bits can be broken off, but I have known a crack to give problems as it opened up when the mechanism was operated, jamming the mechanism, but closed up again so you could hardly see it afterwards. The most likely part to give trouble is the bolt holding the star wheel onto the selector drum coming loose.
