Default 96 polaris scrabler

just picked up a friends scrabler 400 4x4. he wants it up to snuff. do you guys have any recomendations what to look for? the good thing is it runs. the recoil has issues. one of the front shocks is leaking. Are the shocks rebuildable? it needs new chains, he says the 4x4 has problems. havent looked at it yet. its still in the back of my truck. looks like its been ridden hard and put away wet.
I'll take pics of what i end up doing and keep posting on what i find.

you guys have a good site for service manual for this thing. its pretty straight forward but good to have a manual for refrence and torque specs if needed.

Front shocks aren't rebuildable but the rear Fox shock can be rebuilt. You can get replacement front shocks on ebay, amazon, etc. You can get complete chain set ups along with sprockets if needed also.Bearing, seals in the rear axle housing along with the bearings and seals in the center tightener housing are main wear items also. The manual goes into depth on the hub awd system on service/repairs along with any engine repairs, clutches, etc. First repair job can pay for this 5 buck manual. 1996 Polaris Scrambler 4X4 Service Manual PDF Download
