#1
i have a 2000 polaris scrambler 500 4x4 that is completely stock. maybe someone can help me figure this out. last week i was sliding around in 2wd in the snow and the 4x4 right hub locked in. i didnt know what to do so i just put in 4x4 and left it there. the next day i was riding it in 2wd again the same hug locked in when i was at a very high rear wheel spin and is shattered a u-joint and bent the yoke. i got the new parts and i dont want to put it together until i find out whats wrong. can somebody please help me with this problem.

I have a 2001 scrambler 500, I last month i had the same problem then you. You have to change the spring and the plate with 3 pins in your right hub. After that everything will be fine.

Is that it because i have been told that it could be low fluid too. Because when i took it apart there was no fluid in it. That was just the way i got it. When i took it apart all the springs and pins were in perfect shape.

Does anybody know if the u-joint that is open and the u-joint that is in the boot on the axle are the same size or is different, beause i ordered my parts and got them and the u-joint is to big for the yoke coming of the differential. And does anybody know were somebody sells really cheap u-joints. If somebody knows please tell me becuase i cant wait any longer to ride this beast!
