When my wife and I bought our first new home in 1976 our neighbor,a Wylie school teacher bought a little Kubota diesel tractor. Used it to till new yards for seed or sod during the summer breaks and it paid for itself over a couple summers. We both moved on,he moved to Brady,Tx and he still had that tractor when I talked to him last year. If Kubota still make the diesels as reliable now as back then,it should be a good utv.

I'm sure it will be reliable but probably a lot like the older Mules and Gators, painfully slow. It will be a work-only machine. If I were going to spend that much money for a utv, I'd want something that was at least fun to ride so that when the work is done, you can use it for fun.

Kubota makes excellent diesel motors. You might be surprised on the performance, as well. I was pleasantly surprised with my Arctic Cat 700 SD Diesel's performance, a 2 cylinder Lombardini diesel. It will cruise at 40 mph all day, using tiny amounts of diesel. Easily keeps up with my 700 gas model, unless you need to go faster than 50 mph. I have driven a Kubota Diesel, but didn't try it for top speed. but I'll bet it will do 45 mph.
