Honestly, I don't think anyone would take them seriously. Artic cats has a hard time getting respect now. Someone would always be putting it down or saying "It doesn't have pretty plastic like brand X, or it won't do this like brand Z, or it is 4 lbs heavier than brand Y so it's a slug, or it's 1/10 of a horsepower shy of Brand W so it lacks power." I would love to own a sport quad made by artic cat but I don't see them making one. Beside my dealer sells tractors, trailers, and arctic cats so I could see me walk in there and ask to buy a new Kawabunga Jumper 650 Arctic cat on display between the New Holland and John Deere's. COOL.

Rumor has it that they will be selling a sport bike this year. From what I have heard the engine will be a triple cylinder 660cc that is used in the snowmobile offering.

JKB,

Is it along the lines of a raptor, 400ex, ds650? Or is it along the lines of a 500 cat frame with a bigger motor? There's a big difference there. Either would a welcome addition to the Cat Pride. I think I like the SPORT/Utility quad idea better. Let's hope. 3 cylinders would we smooth and powerful.

I personally hope that they never make a sport quad. If they do then i think this forum will be like the Honda or Yamaha forum. 80% of them now are 400ex this and Raptor that, this is faster, yours is crap. It is hard to find a post about the 4x4 that people have and what they have done to them. I like to read about 4x4 work machines plowing through mud and doing real work. But that is just me

I couldn't agree more with racnooc. According to my dealer, sport atv's are only 2% of the ATV market - take that for what it's worth? I sport-utility would be a nice addition - something to compete with a wolverine type bike.

well, it seems to me most of the people that frequent the ac forum are of a different caliber than the other "cronic bashers and braggarts" of some other forums. some people here treat their beasts like sport quads sometimes anyway.hehe...a true sport machine would be a great addition to the ac lineup, especially if they put in one of the hipo sled engines....just my opinion....

Hell, i doubt it. every bike they make now is basically based off of the same frame, and thats not the sportiest around either.

i think they've been making atvs long enough to expand the lineup in a different direction. spark some interest from new buyers not looking for such an animal........hell it wouldn't be that hard to reconfigure the 500(cam/carb/compression/exhaust)for more ponies and put it in a lighter weight frame. kinda like a scrambler or a phsyco wolverine.
