#1
I recently got a 1984 Honda TRX 200 that has been sitting for many years after draining the old gas and putting in a new carb and coil pack I got spark it started right up ran it for a few hours the next day no spark someone told be it may be the CDI box so I found a new CDI box plugged it in and the reverse indicator light comes on tried a few things to bypass but no luck got a refund thinking I got a bad CDI box ordered another from a different company but same thing does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions

There are several different Honda 200s, for example, the ES version uses a different CDI to the 200S. The plugs on the loom are the same but wiring is different. Most likely causes of no spark is the trigger coil on the end of the cam or the exciter coil inside the flywheel. Check if they are OK before worrying about the CDI, which is unavailable for some models anyway. The air gap is adjustable on the trigger coil, cut it down to the minimum 0.015" These bikes never give a good spark, but weak and feeble sparks seem to work fine on them. Check the kill switches, after standing, switches can stick.
