Default 2004 Sportsman 500 Cuts out at 4000 RPM

Hi all, I have a 2004 Sportsman 500 that Runs great till the throttle hits 4000 RPM then it cuts out, if you hold the throttle over 4000 the engine will die after a minute or so then you have to crank it for a good minute to restart it. If you let off the throttle to under 4000 RPM then everything runs fine, you can shut it off and it'll start right back up so I'm thinking this is fuel related. What I've done so far is put in fresh gas, changed the spark plug, and replaced the carb with a new one, the issue still remains. Any suggestions what to try next? The new carb made no difference so I don't think it's a carb issue.
