You are the third person to complain on here about this. Some bikes don't have a voltage regulator, but only a rectifier. Theory is the alternator produces just enough power for charging, so won't overcharge the battery. Either Tao Tao have been fitting this type of rectifier and too large an alternator, or Tao Tao have been sending out bikes with faulty voltage regulators. It is, apparently, no good buying new genuine "regulators" from them as these are no different. Buy a none genuine regulator, just make sure it has the same number of wires or pins for the wires.

A quick eBay search shows thousands of them. However I suspect some translation problems from the Chinese may have produced confusion as to what is a rectifier and what is a regulator, your picture shows something suspiciously like a rectifier. This one looks more like a Regulator and because it has wires, you can check they match your wiring plug. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-4-Pin....c100281.m3567

I have tried 5 different regulators, 2 stators, to no avail. Tao Tao sent me another regulator, that was a bigger one, said it would fix it. Rode for 20 minutes, fried my 5th battery. No idea what to do at this point. Tao Tao doesn't want to help anymore. I have now spent money on 4 of the 6 regulator/rectifiers. Its gotten really frustrating, being its only 6 months old, and hes only got about 4 hours on it.

Default sending

They are sending me another. let u know what they sends works....I also bought a Apollo at same time no issues. I may take that apart see what stator in there. I was told it's not a regulator it's a rectifier. I bought 3 other heavy duty ones for other bikes. They didn't fix problem. I was told that a few got this stator that puts out to much voltage. The old ones only put out about 13 volts. Just enough to keep the battery charged and the rectifier could do it's job. I was hoping someone here had more ideas. Repair company told me this.

https://partskit.com/product/search?q=104423 this is the last rectifier they had me install. It was a little bigger than the previous ones they sent me. Still didn't work. Is it possible the stator is putting too much to the rectifier?
