Idle Adjustment On Scrambler 500

I have a 99 Srambler 99 I bought in April and another I just got yesterday. On both, the wire clip that holds the idle adjustment cable is broken.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix besides replacing the wire clip?
BTW, got the second Scrambler for my wife, because once she rode mine, she didn't want her Lakota any more. There's a lesson in here somewhere.
