Buyang 70cc mini atv
#1
I bought this quad for my 10 year old because it was something I could afford (offer up)
All it needed was the carb cleaned.
Well...
New carb and he was off!
Ran great!
Then it quit for some reason.
After checking everything I could think of, finally figured out it was one of the kill switches.
No big deal, but also discovered the fuel tank was cracked.
Now, I have searched for parts for this thing, cannot find anything that fits.
Finally just glued it back together, and seems to be holding....
Now the darn thing won't move.
It starts/runs, but won't engage.
(Automatic, just accelerate and go)
So I tried to adjust the clutch, but no matter how much I turn the center set screw, it gets no resistance.
I am assuming it requires replacement, but concerned about proper fit.
There does not seem to be any replacement parts that actually fit this model.
When I tried to look up VIN. I keep getting invalid response.
It is a 70cc Loncin engine, (69.5 displacement, 5hp) 2007 made in China.
Any recommendations on proper replacement?

On some Honda Cub clone engines that screw is just a blanking screw and there is no clutch to adjust. Some of these engines have the normal ATV type centrifugal clutch, multiplate clutch and conventional motorcycle gearbox, but others don't. For one thing there is no gear pedal on the Buyang 70 so no need for the multiplate clutch. It may, like the Suzuki LT50, be single speed with centrifugal clutch. I think I would take the clutch cover off and have a look inside. There are U-tube videos of this type of transmission on the net.

Thank you for the response.
You are correct, it is a one speed centrifugal clutch.
I was mostly concerned about ordering one for replacement.
It took 3 tries for the carberator, and 2 tries for dang handlebar switch, and still had to redo the wiring.
Still cannot find the right fuel tank, not really excited about pulling it apart and not having correct replacement.
Are the centrifugal clutches interchangable on similar sized engines?
Or specific to year/model?

Who knows? Loncin must be the biggest cloners of Honda engines in general, so finding parts shouldn't be too difficult. With Chinese stuff you usually can't get parts from the dealers who sold the bike, and the Chinese parts specialists buy in generic parts direct from component manufacturers, so there is no way of telling what fits what, other than comparison, unless the vendor has done the leg work and can say this part fits those makes and models of Quad or engine, which doesn't often happen and is never comprehensive. I needed steering bushes for a Buyang 70, couldn't find them for Buyang, but a Chinese spares supplier gave bush sizes on-line, for a different make of quad, with pictures. They seemed to be identical so I bought some, and they were.
