BuYang 70cc problems
I have purchased a new BuYang 70cc atv for my son. It has remote start and alot of safty features. It starts and runs great by using the remote, but you don't have to use the key which is odd. I found out how to start by using the button on the handle bars but it is a hastle. Now it will not charge the battery. I thought it might be the battery, so I replaced it. That didn't fix it. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. If anyone has any ideas please help. Thanks

BuYang 70cc problems
Hi nathen78. We often face this kind of problem, no charge battery on Chinese Quads.
Let me show you major 2 causes of this probloem, please.
1. Security Remoto-control expense the electoricity for its stand-by
2. Inadequate generater equipped
There are 2 types Rectifiers for Honda knock off engines
1) Half-wave rectification circuit
2) Full-wave rectification circuit
And there're 2 types Generators
3) Type for Half-wave rectification circuit, its Yellow and White Wire are GROUNDED
4)Type with Y/W wires FLOATED for Full-wave rectification circuit
Although the combinations 1) and 3) or 2) and 4) are normal, sometimes we find a combination 2) and 3). In this case, the battery wont be charged. For such case, cut grounded end of coil of the type 3) generator to float, then cut Yellow-wire to connect to the said end of coil so that the generator type 3) would change into type 4). This kind of modification is commonly applied to Chinese quads in Japan.
For your reference, I would paste URL herewith. Unfortunately it was written in Japanese but hope you could imagine with pics on the article.

Hope your sun's quad would come back shortly.

Click the link http://motor.geocities.jp/atv_...A/Jessie39/080306.html from Jessie_atvruns post. Copy and paste it into the blank for 'Translate a web page' on the following web page http://babelfish.altavista.com/ . Then in the 'Select from and to languages' drop-down box select Japanese to English. Click 'Translate' and viola page is translated to English.
