The Dreaded Sportsman 90 Electrical Issues
#1
Hi all, first post here on the forum!
I'm having a bit (lot) of trouble with a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 90 that I just picked up. It has no power going anywhere. I hooked it up to a car battery by jumpers and didn't even get a peep out of the horn.
Fuse is good, have the key and the safety plug in place, held the left brake to start it... nothing, it's like I don't even have a battery installed. Idk what to do at this point other than testing wires, but I've never used a multimeter and have no clue what I'm doing.

I would take out the battery and put it on a charger that you know is good. Make sure its fully charged and reinstall it into the quad and see what you get. Make sure the cables / connectors for the battery are clean. Might be worth checking your other electrical connectors/ plugs, cleaning them and putting dialectic grease in where the metal is located. If you get a multi meter set it to volts DC or VDC, set the dial to 20 and touch the probes to positive to positive and negative to negative and you should be at least 12 volts. If you see wires that are corroded clean them.
