Default Buyang/Feishen FA-N550 Oil Filter Q

Hi all,

I changed my oil in this V-twin 550 atv and am looking for an oil filter replacement. The label on it is in chinese. I did purchase a replacement but the threads don't seem to match as the filter blows off when under load.

The original oil filter part number is 2.1.14.0140 and I need a replacement I can find close to home. Finding any information on this filter has proven to be difficult. I want to match the specs with a north american comparable product.

How do I find a suitable replacement?

You first need to know what thread diameter and pitch the bike has. I have only come across a few different threads, old UK cars were UNF (ANF) but on Quads, Suzukis have a fine thread and Yams/Kawasakis a coarse one, presumably metric. Oil filter maker's catalogues have filter size, thread type, and whether or not they contain an anti-drain valve, listed in the back pages, garages should have these catalogues. The catalogues also cross refference filters to almost all makes and models of engine, but I'm not sure if they can keep up with the vast number of different Chinese engine suppliers. You may just have been unlucky, I have noticed some aftermarket Suzuki filters have been a bit slack on the threads lately, but not enough to come off.

Thanks for that info. My problem is finding that information. The manual doesn't state it, the filter itself is written in chinese and I no longer have the original filter.
Not sure how to proceed.

You may have found this yourself, but from Google, these sellers seem to know what they are listing https://www.multinationalparts.com/p...s/details/4373

Most garages and agricultural engineers will have copies of the filter makers catalogues.
