Default 550xp oil filter removal...how?

So I got looking at my 550xp and how the oil filter comes out...any advice? it is up in the bottom of the engine, thru a hole barely bigger than the filter itself. I cannot see how this will come out without mangling it...and then how in the heck am i gonna get the now one in and snugged down?

I assume its a special tool but ...????

It uses a cartridge style filter tool. Can get them at the dealer, parts store, or online. Here's a link to ebay- Polaris Sportsman 550 850 XP Touring X2 4x4 Oil Filter Wrench Tool 3 8 Drive | eBay

Sucks, but yes like switzomatic said it takes that special filter tool because of clearance. Hated it when customers brought them in all mangled trying to get them out without the tool.

I agree, the more I work on my Sportsman the more I realize they built the machine around the engine.
