centrifugal clutch help
#1
I have a 99 arctic cat 250 2x4. the centrifugal clutch shoes are heavily worn and not engaging the drum anymore. new assemblies are 270 dollars which is a bit rich for my taste. I have found a new assembly for a 300 2x4 for 80 dollars. does anyone know if I could use the 300 clutch in the 250? and if so what affect would it have on performance? I'm assuming it has heavier weights which would require higher rpm to engage. not sure if the spines/crankshaft diameter are the same or not. I would also be up for disassembling both and just stealing the shoes from the new clutch and putting them on the old body? any thoughts would be great.

have you looked up the part numbers for both machines? Usually they fit across several machines... I went through this last summer on my 500 and finally gave up and bought new as anything used it going to be close to having the same issue as what you have now
