Just got this as part of a trade. My fist atv. It's pretty powerful. This one has a CVT. It's premix. First time out it ran well, then it kept wanting to rev up and not come down. Then it revved Really high and i tried shutting it off with both the kill switch and the key. Once those two failed I went for the chock and it worked.

So then a "HOT" light turned illuminated. I was on a closed highway so it got plenty of cool air. Started boiling over so I shut it off.

Is this a lean condition? Perhaps the 50:1 I put in it wasn't the right mixture? Air leak in the carb? Air leak in the intake? What about the main seals? What's know to go bad and cause thsi to happen? Help me not have to recreate

the wheel.

 

welcome to the forum. it is a lean condition that your describing. I would say it has a air leak some where and maybe even a crank seal leaking and sucking in air. I would also clean the carb to rule that out and check the rubber intake for leaks like a crack. its not an air cooled engine so plenty of air really doesn't mean a lot if the radiator is plugged or colorant not flowing because thermostat is stuck or the water pump isn't working correctly. just a few things it could be.
